Female models deployed to pose along with the cars displayed, actually had tremendous know-how about the technical specifications of the Cars, guiding the general visitors. There was also a well furnished cafe for refreshments built adjacent to the pavilion. The Cars displayed on a rotating dais, stupendous lighting, beautiful models posing with a smile, informed representatives helping visitors etc, made BMW's pavilion attract attention at full spree.

Mercedes Benz Pavilion at Auto Expo
Mercedes pavilion had set up at hall no. 15 fascinated with the showcase of car models. The environment went buzzing with stupendous dance performances and a not-so-common unveiling of car models. The performers unwrapped the cars on skates and with music energizing the pavilion with verve and enthusiasm. Mercedes has brought an array of cars with them to the Auto Expo. The Mercedes Pavilion represented the theme of “Pure Fascination” and every corner and every model from Mercedes was purely fascinating. The auto expo was crowded with media and viewers who were very much excited to get glimpse of the models. The company had also arranged reception for the media people to provide information about the company and the models, along with distribution of brochures and bags to media. The launch of the car models was attended by actress, Bipasha Basu.

So, the company wants to tap more market share in this segment with the launch of Ford Figo. However, Ford refused to say about the exact price of Ford Figo but company official indicates that it will be priced in the range of Rs 3.5 lacs to Rs 5 lacs. Auto major Nissan has announced the launch of its long awaited sports car model Nissan 370Z in the Indian auto market. The senior company official disclosed that Nissan 370Z will be launched in the month of January 2010. With the launch of this stunning model, Nissan plans to make its position stronger in the luxury car segment which is currently dominated by BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz. According to the sources, Nissan 370Z will be imported as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) from the parent company in US. Thus, hefty import taxes will lead to an increase in its prices and is speculated to be priced in the range of Rs 30 to 35 lacs. Nissan in general practice imports its two models Nissan Teana and Nissan X-Trail which are cheaper than other imported cars of the same segment. Skoda Yeti would be presented in Auto Expo 2010 in Geneva

Tata Motors may launch Nano on 3rd March
The government official, said, “Tata Motors are planning to give Tata Nano to celebrities initially. Senior Tata officials had discussed about this at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit recently.” Those who likely to be in this list may President Pratibha Patil, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Opposition Leader LK Advani. Others who likely to get it are sports stars like Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Sania Mirza.
Narendra Modi, the chief minister of Gujarat, who was instrumental to attract the Tata Nano plant to Gujarat after it failed to take off in West Bengal, may also be given the car. "This marketing strategy that might help the Tata Motors to brand the common man's car as people's car." sources said.
However, the people may have to brave a waiting period as Tata dealers will start bookings for the Tata Nano by the end of February before the Sanand factory reaches full production. The booking amount is decided to be Rs 70,000 a car.

New Cars to launch in New Year

New Small Cars in India
The leading auto manufacturer Honda Motor Co is also ready to launch Honda Jazz in the segment of small cars in India by June 2009. Hyundai to launch i20 on December 28th
The launch of this new model will be pitted against Maruti Suzuki Swift Zxi and Skoda Fabia which priced at Rs. 5.08 lakh and Rs. 5.24 lakh respectively. The company official said that they will unwrap this new model on 28 December 2008, and it will sport the 1.4 litre petrol Kappa engine that empowers the car. The company has already started exporting Hyundai i20 to European markets in November'08 as this model will replace Hyundai Getz in Europe. In India also, the company does not committal about the phase out of Getz in India.
